Global Connections: Dutch Delegation Visit

A few weeks ago, Aqua Metals had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Netherlands at both the Innovation Center pilot facility and the Sierra ARC campus.

The visiting delegation consisted of individuals from the Dutch government, and research organizations TNO, and ChemistryNL.

The Dutch Delegation toured the Innovation Center and Sierra ARC campus on Wednesday, January 31st.

The morning entailed tours of both facilities and discussions about Aqua Metals’ proprietary AquaRefining technology.

The representatives were interested in learning more about Aqua Metals’ AquaRefining technology in hopes of transitioning the Dutch economy into a completely circular system by 2050 and reducing the use of virgin materials 50% by 2030. To achieve this goal, they are looking to develop partnerships with international companies like Aqua Metals to accelerate the transition.

Members of the delegation listen as Matt Roberts fields their questions in a Sierra ARC meeting room.

During their visit, the delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with Aqua Metals’ leading engineers and chemists, delving into a range of topics crucial for advancing the field of critical raw materials recycling and refining.

They explored the application of Circular Economy principles to energy materials, gaining insights into the evolving commercial market and the significant role federal policies and incentives play in shaping the industry.

Additionally, these conversations opened avenues for identifying complementary areas of expertise, laying the groundwork for potential future collaborations that could further enhance recycling technologies and sustainable practices within the sector.

The delegation adds to the growing list of Aqua Metals’ global relationships regarding the company’s fast-developing, clean recycling alternative.
