–  Our Technology  –

Aqua Metals’ proprietary AquaRefining technology is the first of its kind, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional battery recycling methods.

Our process uses a water-based electrochemical system, eliminating the need for high-temperature furnaces and avoiding the significant chemical waste typical of other recyclers. This results in lower emissions, enhanced safety, and a more cost-effective recovery of high-purity metals like lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper, and manganese.

This groundbreaking technology is a game changer for the industry, addressing the environmental and economic challenges associated with battery recycling. By drastically reducing greenhouse gas emissions and eliminating the production of hazardous chemical byproducts, AquaRefining sets a new standard for sustainability in the sector.

With lower capital and operational costs than other commercial recycling operations, Aqua Metals is poised to lead the way in transforming the battery recycling industry and paving the path for a cleaner, greener future.

–  Competitive Advantages  –

While the shift to electrifying cars is imperative for the planet, this transition will create a new environmental challenge without metals recycling innovations that are clean and cost-efficient.

Innovative Technology
AquaRefining™ technology leads the industry in efficiency and environmental performance.
Market
Growth
With over 1.2TWh of lithium battery cell manufacturing expected in North America by 2030, Aqua Metals is positioned for significant growth. That’s enough batteries for 16M electric vehicles per year.
Environmental Impact
Our process dramatically reduces emissions and waste compared to traditional methods, providing a distinct competitive advantage and lowered costs.
Circular Supply Agreements
Secured contracts for black mass supply and off-take agreements for recycled materials ensure a steady revenue stream.
Domestic Production

Our recycled metals will be one of the only sources of low-carbon battery battery materials in North America. And, in partnership with 6K Energy we will produce the most sustainable lithium battery CAM in the US, qualifying for Inflation Reduction Act incentives.

Be part of the revolution.

–   REVENUE & FUTURE GROWTH POTENTIAL  –

Aqua Metals is on track to achieve significant revenue growth with the completion of Phase One of our Sierra ARC facility, which will process 3,000 tonnes of black mass per year with a positive operating margin. Phase Two will expand our processing capacity to 10,000 tonnes per year, further accelerating our financial growth and market presence.

The lithium battery sector is experiencing meteoric growth, and it is projected that over 1.2TWh of lithium battery cell manufacturing capacity will be established in the US by 2030, according to Argonne National Lab. That is enough battery cells for roughly 16 million fully electric vehicles each year.

This increase in battery production underscores the urgent need for efficient, sustainable recycling solutions to manage the growing volume of end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap. With our scalable technology and robust partner ecosystem, Aqua Metals is strategically positioned to meet this demand.

By more than tripling our processing capacity in Phase Two, Aqua Metals will significantly increase our market share and revenue streams. The expansion will enable us to handle larger volumes, driving a higher output of valuable recycled materials like lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese. This growth trajectory supports our mission of creating a circular supply chain and also ensures that we stay ahead in the rapidly evolving battery recycling industry. Our innovative approach and strategic investments position Aqua Metals to capitalize on the expanding market, driving sustained financial performance and long-term shareholder value.

Secure your stake in a high-growth industry.
