Internship OPPORTUNITY

Aqua Metals, Inc. has two (2) positions for a UNR Chemical Engineering (Senior) intern.  If you are an individual who wants to experience being a part of an environmentally conscious company at the forefront of critical metal recovery (from Lithium-ion batteries)—we want you with us for the summer at our Innovation Center in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC).

This role will work closely with our small, highly focused staff of engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment interfacing with operations, control, and chemistry departments.

What You will do

  • Perform duties associated with general laboratory and pilot plant operation, including solution preparation, sampling, sample analysis, and routine analytical tests such, as data collection and analysis.
 
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, including lab pilots and associated instrumentation such as pH meters, temperature sensors, etc.
 
  • Support the design or select process equipment and control equipment including pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, rectifiers, pH meters, temperature sensors, density meters, etc.
 
  • Support the design of new process technologies including PFD, P&ID, BFP, HAZOP, PFMEA, and DFMEA.
 
  • Prepare brief reports detailing designs, results of tests, and analyses.

Pay Range & Duration

  • This position is a nonexempt position (hourly). 
  • The pay range is $19.00 to $27.00 per hour depending on experience.
  • The duration of this position aligns with UNR’s summer break, approximately, mid-May to end of August.
